In her paintings of the Salt Lake Martha seeks to capture the changing colours of the Lake in different seasons. In this painting she depicts the lake when during rain. "When it's raining and the rain makes the lake flood a little, it makes it muddy and little bit moist and bit of bubbles. When it's really dry the colour changes, Yeah, when it rains you see the sand. When it's dry you see the salt like a blue-grey sea".
